The Folklorico Series was inspired by the colorful skirts worn by Folklorico dancers. I wanted to capture the movement of the skirts as they were swaying and swooshing to the music. My mother was the inspiration for the series since she danced in a Folklorico group when she was young. Wheel-thrown porcelain, altered, multiple sprayed glazes, and fired in an oxidation atmosphere. Approximately 7 1/2” h x 5 1/2” w; 2.3#
