The Folklorico Series was inspired by the colorful skirts worn by Folklorico dancers. I wanted to capture the movement of the skirts as they were swaying and swooshing to the music. My mother was the inspiration for the series since she danced in a Folklorico group when she was young. Wheel-thrown porcelain, altered, multiple sprayed glazes, and fired in an oxidation atmosphere. Approximately5 3/4” h x 4” w; 1#2oz.
